Answers to Your
HypnoBirthing® and calmbirthing®
Questions
What will HypnoBirthing® and
calmbirthing® do for me?
It will help you help yourself. It will keep you in a relaxed state of
mind and body before and during the birthing process. It will teach you
tools that you will use for birthing and for the rest of your life,
something that hospital classes are no longer providing.
When is the best time to start the
classes?
26 – 30 weeks is a good time frame but if your due date is much closer
than that individual classes can be arranged. If you would like more
relaxation, then starting classes earlier is fine.
Will my labour be pain-free?
No one can give that guarantee, however a large percentage of women have
reported just that, just a sensation of tightening and pressure. The aim
of HypnoBirthing is to have a calm, easier more comfortable labour that
you are in charge of just like nature intended.
Is it important that my birthing
partner attend the classes?
Yes that is the ideal but not always necessary. A birthing companion can
be of a great assistance with your focus and relaxation during labour and
they too have the benefit of learning relaxation for themselves to use
during their own everyday stressful situations.
What is included in my class costs?
The costs include: classes for you and your birthing companion, text book,
CD’s, a DVD, and handouts.
How are the classes held?
The classes are available in 2 ways
• 5 weekly classes 7pm – 9.30pm
• 2 Saturdays 9am – 3.30pm
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural, awake state of relaxation, in which suggestions you
desire are given to your unconscious mind. It is not mind control. All
hypnosis is self hypnosis.
Can anyone be Hypnotised?
Because you already live in a natural hypnotic state hypnosis is easy. The
best subject is a person who has a definite reason or motivation to go
into hypnosis.
What will it feel like?
A hypnotic state is not like being unconscious or asleep. You will be in
an awake state of
alertness and aware of your surroundings. You may or may not remember
everything because you are in a relaxed state like when you are
daydreaming and yes you will remember the actual birth.
Is Hypnosis mind control?
No. The person being hypnotised is in full control at all times. No one
can make you do anything that you wouldn’t normally do every day.
Will I quack like a duck?
Only if that is what you suggest to yourself. |
